The Press Club of Metropolitan St. Louis and The Missouri Professional Communicators present “Painting Missouri” AT THE ST. LOUIS MERCANTILE LIBRARY at the University of Missouri – St. Louis July 13
ST. LOUIS, MO— The Press Club of Metropolitan St. Louis and The Missouri Professional Communicators (MPC) present an exclusive presentation and discussion with artist Billyo O'Donnell and writer Karen Glines, on July 13, 2-4 p.m. at the St. Louis Mercantile Library on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus, Thomas Jefferson Library, One University Blvd. Glines and O’Donnell have worked for the past seven years on their new book, Painting Missouri.
Painting Missouri is a collection of essays written by Glines and paintings created by O’Donnell of each of Missouri’s 114 counties, plus the city of St. Louis. O’Donnell logged 150,000 miles traveling to each county to paint outdoors on location,or “en plein air”, and his 115 paintings are on display at the Mercantile Library until October 6, 2008. Glines traveled regionally, researched, and wrote the essays describing the important historical and characteristics of each area.
The presentation is free to MPC and Press Club members, as well as to the community, and will feature a wine and cheese reception.

About Karen Glines
Karen Glines is an award-winning journalist who lives in Des Peres, Missouri. She is a professor, has served as a mentor to journalism students, and as President of the National Federation of Press Women - Missouri Affiliate, now Missouri Professional Communicators. Her published works have appeared locally, nationally, and internationally.
About Billyo O’Donnell
Billyo O’Donnell’s work has taken him to the White House and aboard the Forbes’ Yacht. He is founder of the Artists along the Katy Trail program and was selected as one of America’s Fifty Exceptional Plein Air Painters by the Haggin Museum in Stockton, California. His works are included in collections around the world. He lives in a log cabin in Eureka and has a studio at the Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles.

On Highway I-70, traveling east:
Exit Hwy I-70 at Exit 240 (University Boulevard) Turn right and continue approximately 1⁄2 mile to the intersection of University Blvd. and Bellerive Drive. Turn right and continue (becomes East Drive) to visitor parking lot B, a small lot on the right (just past the fountain).
On Highway I-70, traveling west:
Exit Hwy I-70 at at Exit 240 (University Boulevard). Bear left. Turn left at the base of the exit ramp and continue approximately 1/2 mile to the intersection of University Blvd. and Bellerive Drive. Turn right and continue (becomes East Drive) to visitor parking lot B, a small lot on the right (just past the fountain).
On Highway I-170, traveling north or south:
Exit Highway I-170 at the Natural Bridge Exit (#6) and turn right (east). Continue on Natural Bridge Road through the Hanley Road intersection. At the second stop-light after Hanley Road, turn left onto North campus (this is approximately 1.5 miles). Turn right, and visitor parking lot B will immediately be on the left.
